چکیده

Rate-Splitting Multiple Access (RSMA) is an emerging flexible and powerful multiple access for downlink multi-antenna networks. In this paper, we introduce the concept of RSMA into short-packet communications. We design optimal linear precoders that maximize sum rate with Finite Blocklength (FBL) constraints. The relations between blocklength are investigated a wide range network loads user deployments. Numerical results demonstrate can achieve same transmission as Non-Orthogonal (NOMA) Space Division (SDMA) smaller blocklengths (and therefore lower latency), especially in overloaded Hence, conclude promising low-latency

Low-latency Ultra Reliable 5G Communications: Finite-Blocklength Bounds and Coding Schemes

Future autonomous systems require wireless connectivity able to support extremely stringent requirements on both latency and reliability. In this paper, we leverage recent developments in the field of finite-blocklength information theory to illustrate how to optimally design wireless systems in the presence of such stringent constraints. Focusing on a multi-antenna Rayleigh block-fading channe...

Short-Packet Communications in Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access Systems

This work introduces, for the first time, nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) into short-packet communications to achieve low latency in wireless networks. Specifically, we address the optimization of transmission rates and power allocation to maximize the effective throughput of the user with a higher channel gain while guaranteeing the other user achieving a certain level of effective throug...

Wireless Powered Communications with Finite Battery and Finite Blocklength

We analyze a wireless communication system with finite block length and finite battery energy, under quasi-static Nakagami-m fading. Wireless energy transfer is carried out in the downlink while information transfer occurs in the uplink. Transmission strategies for scenarios with/without energy accumulation between transmission rounds are characterized in terms of error probability and energy c...

Short-Packet Communications with NOMA for IoT Applications

This work introduces downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) into short-packet communications. NOMA has great potential to improve fairness and spectral efficiency with respect to orthogonal multiple access (OMA) for lowlatency downlink transmission, thus making it attractive for the emerging Internet of Things. We consider a two-user downlink NOMA system with finite blocklength constrai...

High-speed Downlink Packet Access

This chapter presents High-speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) for WCDMA—the key new feature included in Release 5 specifications. The HSDPA concept has been designed to increase packet data throughput by means of fast physical layer (L1) retransmission and transmission combining as well as fast link adaptation controlled by the Node B (Base Transceiver Station (BTS)). This chapter is organise...
